"My paintings offer a view of Bahamian life, both past and present. The predominance of my work is often engaged in some intimate, private setting. The subjects seem to have arrested time for their own purpose. It is compelling to see them and know that they are not part of an affluent class of people. You may want to rescue them, or even envy them because they have the time to luxuriate in the world they inhabit, a world which belonged to me at times."
